Seven years ago I started a pilgrimage and today, it is complete. I haver proverbial blisters on sore feet. I can say with joy and the depth of sorrow that comes from a long journey, that it was my training and a powerful devotion to wisdom.
I love that I am complete on 12/12 at 12:12 on the full moon. Here I am back then…

[one_half_last] Magic. Mirth. Sorrow. Story. This is our Red Thread Cafe today in West Marin at a place my Grandmother Helen used to take me to – called the Two Bird Cafe. After breakfast, we drove to the very place where the Red Madonna began 7 years ago today. I have now painted for 91 full moons.
This ‘pilgrimage’ both virtual and physical has been bigger than I can say – a path of community and devotion. I give thanks for the thousands of women on the path with me. I have blisters on my feet, and more love in my heart than I can ever say. Thank you Nuestra Senora for guiding my feet –
“Great Lady, please continue to show me where to step next.”[/one_half_last]
Dear One,
Endings are often hard for us. We have this idea that if something is good it will go on and on and on. Bringing things to a close is not a skill many of us have – we are clunky and at times angry, even if we know it is time. I often feel confused during a cycle change. Even if we can feel that timing in our bones, we don’t want a good thing to end. Yet if we do not complete, the next door won’t be revealed. We can hang on too long – and then it changes into something else.
The truth is I don’t want to stop, but I have come to the end of this journey that I began. Seven years and 91 moons is a long time to do one thing! And yet I am in love with that one thing, which is Devotional Painting with Intentional Creativity.
As I sit here reflecting on all that I have experienced, of course I am beyond grateful to have had this experience of sisterhood. And to teach with my mom, Caron McCloud, and so many other powerful women leaders over the years. Most of all, spending time dedicated to the Divine Feminine has changed who I am and shown me the path of Wisdom, not my own, but Her wisdom.
What is completing for you? Can you sit in the silence of the change?
Today is the Feast of the Guadalupe – one of my great teachers and so as I write to you today I give thanks for this connection – going back to my early twenties when I first prayed to “Father” about the whereabouts of my Mother. She came. And She made her home in my heart. And she never left……
Something more is on the horizon, I can’t see it yet – so I am headed into some holiday downtime with my love.
Below is an image of Her, and a song which has been very powerful for me since the first moment I heard it in my twenties.
There are a few things coming up which I have shared with you above. And then the Red Thread Letters will pause until the New Year…..2020.
2020. I like the sound of that.
