When we create, we engage with the life force of creation. Creating isn’t about talent. Creating is about feeling more. Expressing more truthfully. Creativity is an active energy within all beings. Even when it appears dormant, it isn’t.

This summer, or winter, may your studio hum with life!
Dear Ones,
I am very excited to hold a number of events this Summer and Fall here at our MUSEA campus in Sonoma, plus one big mamma jamma online course, APOTHECARY : Medicine Painting. I am ready to spend time in person, sharing brushes and cake in our gorgeous studio which we are preparing for you!
I look forward to connecting with you more as the days unfold in our great mysterious universe. Whether in person or online – I love hearing from you and seeing what you’re up to. The most immediate way to connect with our work in Intentional Creativity is through our free online classroom, The Red Thread Cafe. If you are a woman, who creates, this is for you. We have weekly support from an Intentional Creativity® teacher each Wednesday, for your works in progress.
We also have monthly free online circles for women called Red Thread Connect, led by Intentional Creativity community leaders and are a chance to be in virtual circle with women around the world.
Cultivating community around Intentional Creativity is a big and also very rewarding commitment. One that I am focused on much of my days as a big part of my life’s work. It truly takes a village to do this well – including a full team behind the scenes, largely comprised of Intentional Creativity Teachers who come work with us after graduating from Color of Woman.
A graduate and friend wrote this to me recently, after I told her I was sorry I wasn’t able to track everything in our community that was happening. She then shared an image that her 5 year old granddaughter created with IC. Her name is Svetlana Pritzker:
“Dearest Shiloh, you are the most incredible person I have met so far in my life and I have met some really incredible people. Your dedication is above and beyond humanly possible and you are never off track just because you are really inclusive. You are burning your heart high for us to feel warm…I also see you. And I know that holding such a huge family warm this takes a really big heart.
I am always praying for you and for your deep desire to be fulfilled. Sacrifice is delicious but sometimes sacrifice of the battle is also rewarding. I know we will find the timeplacecontinium where we meet without a need, just in love.”
Notes like this remind me of my humanity, my struggle, my limitations and help me keep going with our big vision (more on this soon). Our Intentional Creativity teachings reach between 500 and 5000 people across the world every month, with both free and paid offerings. We invite you to join us and begin (or continue) your own exploration of how creativity can bring blessings to your journey.
This work isn’t about being an artist (only) but about knowing what you are called to. No matter what that is, to know it. This brings me to a memory I associate with my Grandmother Eden, my Mama Caron’s mother. The inquiry is:
What tools are your hands called to?
This may not be a direct quote but is something I associate with her. She and my mom both said things like: what things do your hands naturally go towards? It is an interesting question to ask – and I might add – when you find yourself with ‘time on your hands’ how do you spend it? Without needing to make money or make sense or create an outcome. What do you go towards? Perhaps naming your tools will provide some insight. See my painting below for more details.
My grandmother was a seamstress, pattern-maker, carpenter, writer, painter, illustrator in thread and so much more…I learned so much about how she approached her work and taught me to do the same.
I want to bring your attention especially to a class I am very excited about, by Grace from Denmark – come see here– Grace is doing something that is such a blessing it is hard to capture it in words – as it is very much a place of the heart…Grace is doing a class with IC including the IC Lineage, come see what she has created….
In the coming weeks I have lots of goodness to share with you but today I simply wanted to share ways you can come and work with me, and our community.
With a splash of color,
Grandma Eden McCloud
When I turn away from my troubles
When I let the troubles of the world rest from my mind for a time…
Then my hands find joy in their doing
Making beauty come to life
all the while, making me come to life
While creating, my energy is restored
My vision inside is expressed externally
Here I find peace and resolve
What tools will you name as your own?
Will you let them claim you, soothe you?
Finding your peace in your process.
For me… “Paintbrush! Palette! Color! Canvas! Pen, page, process, come to me! Community, circle, connection, come!”
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

This painting is a work in Progress for the CODEX Course – this phase is about naming your tools.
“Last month I attended Shiloh Sophia’s muse day (and had one of the best experiences of my life). I am still wearing my red thread around my wrist. Since that day every so often I feel a tingly sensation, vibration where the red thread is. It’s as if I’m receiving love.” ~ Marsha Mees
