though the day presses upon our hearts and bodies we have wings which are strong from use gravity comes exhaling down and, inhaling, we rise, unfolding. unfurling. though sometimes coughing we rise with bright courage into possibility and the future’s hands while carrying with us the cries of our Haiti and our Africa and our…

Sacred Path VS. Daily Grind: Living With Intention

Living With Intention

We can bring meaning to everything we do. If anyone is looking for a change, a shift, a new way of living in their lives and in their bodies – intentional living is an immediate, palpable, phenomenal possibility! It sounds so simple, and the crazy thing is, that it actually is somewhat simple. Intention may not seem like the hottest new topic. Setting an intention may seem like kindergarten for the enlightened, but life without intention, is rather grim.

While researching the word intention, I found that the latin root, intentio means to stretch or purpose. I also found that definition three of intention was: MEDICINE: The healing process of a wound. Interesting, considering that to bring intention into our daily lives, would indeed be a healing process of a wound, several wounds in fact – apathy, despondency, self loathing, lack of inspiration, slothfulness, greed, disorganization – to name a few.

Leading A Legendary Life – Art and Living With The Context of Legend

Choosing to live a legendary life means giving ourselves permission to be amazing.
We define what ‘amazing’ is for ourselves. It is not the “what” of living, but the “how.” Choosing to be legendary is more than an attitude and more than a way of being. When we choose to be legendary we have decided that we are defining the context in which our lives will be lived and experienced. Do you want vitality? Self expression? Do you want to feel like your life is on purpose? Do you want to live as an artist, with creativity as a central theme? There is a sparkling destiny waiting for you to say YES!

Who Will We Be? Embracing Our Economy

Who Are We Going to Be?

I have a strange notion to embrace our economy. A mystical sense that to navigate these changes with grace will require deep love and profound creativity. Not regret or blame. While at every turn, fear is present with the “what if’s” it has always used to leverage itself into our lives. Each day, I face fear with paintbrush and pen in hand and kindly reply, “I have no need of your stories, but, thank you for reminding me to pay attention” To choose not to submit, when fear, regret, blame, shame and other not-so-kind frequencies have been laced into the air by the unseen hands of doom sayers– well, it takes courage. But be courageous we must!

Ballad of a Hopeless Optimist – Twenty-Ten

Though the storms of doom will rage against our bright windows opened to the day

And the perils of Main street and Wall street bid us foreboding while we linger under feather coverlets

While the headlines glorify mayhem and madness, we shall leap forward with red shoes made for dancing

We, a people of an unreasonable dream, will not be undone. Our very bones are made for this bright longing.

This faith which against the odds of empty houses, white houses, houses of financial ill repute and houselessness.

This faith will see us through and cause us to throw open our doors to our futures and shout

DAY! We cometh forth from the depths of yester-year! We will wear orange dresses and feathered hats,

READY OR NOT! HERE WE COME!

And while we claim the wreckage still piling up in the junkyard of ‘soul work’ still to be done

We shall not be put under the tires of commerce or commercial or cynicism

We cannot be talked out of our joy!
