How to Move a Mountain
Not I but you, Sweet Lord
know how to move through this terrain.
A land swelling with rocks and mountains
that to the naked eye and skeptical mind seems
impossible.
But your history in my life
has shown that my thoughts betray me
because each time you show me
the way through or around or over, I experience
faith.
Right before I am about to give up
and lay my head upon a stone to cry
at the mountain’s craggy base,
you come, and point, here is the
way.
And the places before that seemed impossible
Open up. There is sometimes even a tunnel through.
Sometimes there is a way around, longer, but doable.
But most often, the way is over the top and you give me
courage.
As I mount the summit, the mountain has not actually
Moved. Powerfully and with conviction, I hike up and up.
I am what has moved. From this vantage point looking back,
it was me who needed to move, not the mountain, and I am
grateful.
Lord grant us the humility to seek your wisdom to make our way.
Grant us the patience to wait and watch for your instructions.
Grant us the faith to remember, yes, we have made impossible
journeys before, countless times, and we did
survive.
With your guidance, we did move a mountain by moving beyond
the place where it seemed impossible.
Thank you sweet Lord for seeing me through these
hard to see through places. For revealing how matter is
transformed.
By your spirit. That is how. So it is our job in this
Mountain moving life of ours to:
Seek the Lord.
Believe it is possible and wait.
Meanwhile not despairing too much.
Then when we hear the instruction
Move powerfully and faithfully
recognizing the strength will come from you
if we will begin to take those first steps,
you will meet us on the path.
Hallelujah! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
