“Knowing what must be done does away with fear.” – Rosa Parks
Red Thread Letter #793
Will you choose connection?
Dear One,
Are you choosing to stay connected? These are curious times and the power of staying rooted in community is essential for well being. Research across the board shows that those who feel connected to community feel a greater overall sense of well being. Staying connected does not mean checking every update on the computer to ‘stay informed’. There is an important difference between staying informed and staying connected around the things that matter to you – a balance of both are needed at this time.
In the community of Intentional Creativity, which has been connecting together for over 27 years, our focus has been around the framework of self expression. Self expression is an access point to the overall health of the person. In Intentional Creativity we bring inquiry and an openness to discovery into our self expression, which makes it that much more illuminating. Our community connects around this powerful medicine of self expression. If you are seeking a connection and self expression is your jam, then I hope you will consider us your community and join us for an array of online offerings, many of which are free for you to access and available right now.
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to bring an end to people’s experience of isolation. At the time I didn’t realize that many CHOOSE to be isolated – it is a conscious choice. Many of us have had experiences of ending up somewhere we did not feel we belonged or did not feel wanted. Yet in my research I have been fascinated to discover that as adult women, many of us are choosing to not belong even when no one is telling us we don’t belong – there are some making the choice to separate themselves out and perpetuate the isolation. This often comes from past wounding or the feeling that there is no point in trying to belong.
I have personally dedicated a great deal of my life to transforming this chosen isolation by other women by inviting them and inspiring them to CHOOSE BELONGING instead of isolation. Now I know that right now, we are being asked to spend more time alone – but because of the gift of the virtual world, we don’t have to FEEL alone.
During a time when we are being asked to stay home for our own good, I would like to also ask you to consider how you will stay connected? Recently, I started receiving messages over email and Facebook about our work with sacred connections online. Since bringing Intentional Creativity online over 13 years ago, we have been building a strong ‘field’ where connection happens around the world from the comfort of each person’s home or wherever they have access to the internet. Quantum connection is a powerful tool in my Medicine Basket!
Here are a few ways to connect with our Intentional Creativity community today and in the coming weeks! All of the events listed below were previously planned, and we are so glad they are appropriate to the context of what has been emerging in our sweet world of late.
UPCOMING VIRTUAL EVENTS with MUSEA : INTENTIONAL CREATIVITY
How prepared are you when you or someone else’s needs arise?
Do you have tools of resilience building ready to go?
How long is your reaction and recovery time before you can serve with your gifts?
Let’s work together to discover and fill your medicine basket, and let’s add red thread as a medicine you can carry. You don’t need to be trained in Red Thread Circle to carry a red thread. We will tell you all about it when we gather for a LIVE face to face virtual Red Thread Circle. RSVP to join us.
2. FREE Teaching on Quantum Connection: Study with me right now for FREE! This is a video teaching that explores the philosophy and framework I operate within to keep my community feeling connected in a very real, albeit mystical way. You will need a cup of tea, a journal, and about 45 minutes. Do you have time time? This teaching was offered as part of a paid class, but I wanted to offer it as a free gift and blessing for you today.
These Red Thread Circle teachings will empower you to lead circles in your communities, as well as holding circles online. You will be able to practice almost immediately with the skills we teach you. Your voice and your circle is needed. How about adding Red Thread to your Medicine Basket?
4. RED MADONNA : Virtual Church anyone? Online Ritual? Painting as Sacred Practice? For those who would like to begin working with me online starting next week through painting and prayer, our sacred women’s community –Red Madonna – is starting on the first day of Spring! A 13 moon experience of sacred connection.
There is a reason 4 pages of the Gospel of Mary Magdalene are missing. The heart of our work explores the mythical message of what’s missing in our sacred practice, and invites us to fill it in with our own imagination and sacred self expression. If you want to join us, you can participate via two distinct memberships, depending on how much capacity you have at this time – learn more here. You are also invited to simply join me for the Church of the Scarlet Thread – an unplugged teaching of a revolutionary gospel on Sunday mornings!
I thought you might like to see this – some of the numbers we look at to be SURE we are reaching those who are looking for a connection, community and meaningful work.
Important Update: A few days ago when I wrote an article about violence against womenfor International Women’s Day, I sifted through a lot of statistics. There isn’t a standardized way they are written across platforms. I ended up quoting the statistic that 1 in 3 women are killed every day by a member of their own family or a partner. I found in several places and cited those sources. Well, with the help of community, I discovered that statistic only applied to the United States! In reality it is 137 women who are killed by a member of their own family every day across the globe. I appreciate the input from the community and the opportunity to clarify. Reading the US statistic of 1 in 3 was shocking enough, but it was way worse than I thought and hard to digest the information. Please update this in your awareness. I am truly sorry for the earnest error. I am always learning so much and appreciative of the feedback and informational support from our global community.
I am a being of service. I thrive in challenging times and hold closely the words of Rosa Parks, “Knowing what must be done does away with fear.” I am not in a place of fear or panic. Instead I am mobilized, leading with beauty, passion, hope and yes, tons of unreasonable faith! I feel like I am especially equipped to serve and called into action when hard times hit our villages locally and globally. I do what I can do. I am filled up with love, and the more I pour out that love, the more loves comes back in. That is the Divine in action through human beings.
Often, during times of tragedy, I create a new offering in response. But this time around when tragedy and challenge has come to us, we already have many offerings set in motion. Every event I shared with you above has been planned far in advance, and I am so glad we are ready to serve and support.
I have been in recovery from a flu myself, and I am mindful of how I am refilling my cup and with whose power. Not my own. I have just taken a week-long Sabbath as we did not end up going to New York. I will be ready to bring you the gifts from the altar starting next week.
The choice to feel connected is just that – a choice. At times in the Red Thread community, we call it ‘tugging on the red thread’. Take a moment to pause here with me and imagine all of us are connected along the red thread…we are in this together…our connection is real and deeply felt. This is quantum connection. The connection is happening even if you do not feel it right away or even believe in it! However, if you choose to engage with it, you will likely be able to feel it in time, and with practice. Feeling connected is a practice, and today I am invited us to practice this connection together.
Tune into what you are feeling. Don’t allow yourself to be taken in by what others are feeling. Find your own way, your own voice, your own medicine. You are the surest guide to your own well being. When in community, our individual voices grow stronger as we realize we but one fine thread in a great and beautiful weave. We have our unique piece, and that piece matters.
“See you soon” online. We can do the red thread bump instead of the elbow bump – lol. Sending a prayer out to each of you for your health and well being, and a pray for all those who are suffering.
With love along the red thread….
