Dear One,
I send this with BIG LOVE on a day all about loving. While I know many of us don’t want to buy into the hype of Valentines, I personally love a day or week when I can see pink hearts and red roses everywhere I go. A day when the calendar asks us to turn towards love.
My mom Caron McCloud is one of the most loving, wise and compassionate women I have ever known. She is my first Valentine and will always be. She taught me the most important message advice about love that I apply in my marriage and in my friendships.
“Love is either expanding or contracting. If you think it’s staying the same, it’s contracting. So let’s expand our loving”
Take that in. Ask yourself, about your primary relationships – if it feels like it is staying the same….consider a loving action today!
This message translated into a phrase I use a lot – I will not go to sleep on the questions love asks. The amazing thing is when we become conscious that it may have been ‘staying the same’ and therefore might be contracting – we can INSTANTLY do something to re-ignite the expansion of love. True love is the one thing we can never get too much of. I am not saying there isn’t a time of resting and shifting from how love has been – but witnessing it change and move instead of get further away. To be watchful and tender and present as a choice.
If we aren’t watchful of our loving, we wake up one day and no longer feel connected, and not know how that could happen. Ya’ll know exactly what I am talking about.
So today, I invite you to tender vigilance towards your love relationships. Ask yourself today – Who can I expand my love with?
And then do it. Do it because you can. Because we need your love as much as we need air. Because you are a Beloved on this earth and love is our medicine. Let’s expand our love, today.
I am sending some LOVE to you right now! Loving you makes me expand my loving presence each time I write and draw for you. I wrote this, and drew this FOR YOU. That is love expansion in community through Intentional Creativity. If I didn’t love US, our collective of loving beings gathered here, I would not write to you or draw for you. But because I love, I do. I can feel it moving through my blood and bone and field when I think of you. Yes. You. I know, it’s a quantum concept but it is as real as this day is.
During Red Thread Cafe each day, my love Jonathan and I practice the expansion of love through our time, attention and intention to weave our lives. It doesn’t take as much as you think – but it does take time to be together in presence.
