The Muse is at the back door tonight.
We are in the middle of dinner and I don’t want the others to see her.
I take a chicken wing, and rush to the door.
I beg her to come back later.
She looks at me suspiciously over leopard print sunglasses.
She takes the wing, smacking her pink lip gloss and off she goes into the twilight.

Dear Ones,
When 2020 started, none of us knew what was coming. As things began to unfold I realized that I did not want to spend my creative energy fighting broken systems. Plus my Muse had other ideas. So off we went into a new territory of writing short stories. I didn’t have a plan, simply an idea of the Muse at the Back Door. I have loved writing them and my community has loved reading them. I am working on editing them into a small book. In the ‘in-between spaces’ I edit, refine and work with the material. This is where I get my creative spark and joy – and join the Muse for tea.
I hope you enjoy!
with love,
