It is August Eve this evening – the holy day of Lughnasadh, Lammas “loaf mass” in the old calendars that include the earth and the feminine. Here in the North we are moving toward the ‘first fruits’ of the harvest, in the south, Candlemass. We ask ourselves questions like – what are we harvesting or giving rise to or giving birth to in our lives?
During this time we are also moving into an incredible Eclipse cycle – A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse August 7th and the New Moon Solar Eclipse on August 21st. This hasn’t happened for us here since 1979 and many thousands will be able to see it. If all goes well, we will be traveling to Oregon to get our view in our RV! This is an amazing time to be contemplative, to consider where you are and where you are going – even if you aren’t that into the stars – no one can deny the power of the Eclipse – spend some time looking it up and seeing what calls to you.
As for me, Jonathan and I are headed to the mountain for the Alchemist, a Color of Woman School gathering on the land of Terra Sophia, where I first encountered the power of Intentional Creativity.
I wanted to send you a note today sharing these events with you and my new poem fresh off the press :) and just let you know I am thinking of you…. I will be offline most of the week.
