that is just waiting for you to open it….
Will you dare? Will you dare?
How do you create in a future that hasn’t happened yet?
Creating IN the future is a conscious choice. A choice to move beyond just reacting to what is and engage in a co-creative relationship with what is possible. Sound exciting? It truly and profoundly is.
Have you considered how imagination might play a starring role in the creation of the future? Not a far far away future, but the kind that happens just in the moments while you are reading this. Intuitive Intentional Creativity has so much catalytic impact because it takes place just moments in the future. By engaging in the process you reach out into a domain that has yet to be revealed : the space of possibility.
In the making of intuitive art, we don’t always work with what we know, in fact, most of it is in the mystery. Actual skill may be related to what you have done before, but using it in THIS moment means it hasn’t happened yet. In Intentional Creativity we engage with the imagination while allowing the unknown to arise. When we notice the arising and the information it holds for us, then we can move even further into often hidden domains.
The mind, given an inquiry, most often reaches into the past stories for information to create a contextual response. This is normal and is mostly about protecting us. However, this is one of the reasons we have so many challenges with creating newly in our present, because we are using the past as THE reference point. The reference point instead could belong to the future. Most of the time we are using past pain to form the present and future and not necessarily past joys, successes and celebrations. Clearly we can see that this recurring creates issues!
When we create the future of our lives from pain instead of pleasure we bring pain we don’t need into our current experience. Then, guess what, the conditions are set to prepare for the worst, and almost bracing ourselves against change. Further there is often resistance and avoidance when we are continually trying to protect ourselves from suffering that might happen later. We MAY be creating more pain BY the very act of trying to protect ourselves. This irony could almost be poetic if we brought it to the page or the canvas.
When we discover that our past stories are living in our present and our future, at first it can come as a kind of surprise. This is a relatively early ‘aha’ for those on a path of self discovery! Once we are aware of this tendency, we still may not know how to create a future based on what is possible. Is it true that we only know what we know? Or perhaps when we create does another knowing arise in us? What do you think?
Pause for a moment and feel into the idea of possibility energy as compared to ‘past’ energy. What did you notice?
Does the ‘quantum field condition’ that creativity creates WHILE we are creating change the outcomes? Yes. At the level of personal experience, as well as biochemistry and nueroscientifically. Creativity can bring the whole self into motion. KAPOW!
When we create intuitively, we enter the future and can choose to be conscious of and play in this expansive space time. When we draw from the well of imagination within, coupled with intention, then we are in the future. It is something that hasn’t happened yet and there is INFORMATION available there that wasn’t available before. Now that is hot!
In the CODEX experience your imagination might run wild. You may surprise yourself. You will not always know what is happening. You may enter into a flow state and be somewhere in your consciousness that you’ve never actually been before. This is scary, exciting and enlightening. Often it causes an expanded experience of self awareness.
When we are truly present, past and future disappear and we are just here. Then, joy is here.
If you have been letting the idea that you are not creative or talented stop you – let this be the moment to step through that dangerous illusion. If you have been saying to yourself that to find peace within you, that you have to be a master meditator or earn it – then let this be the moment you realize this is an outdated story. The inherent capacity to be creative, experience self expression and self soothing is BUILT INTO BEING HUMAN. Most of the time we are missing it.

Dear One,
During this weekend’s rose moon, which is what I call it (others call it the blood moon), I had a big revelation. The above writing about creating in the future sparked within me. It feels like for the past 25 years I’ve been emerged, drenched, focused on the story work of healing our past to arrive at our present moment to create the future. Indeed almost all of my work has the thread of this. This weekend, as I looked out at the rose moon, my revelation about how I’m going to be teaching moving forward in my life just came through. One of those moments where everything just lands and the processing is complete and you just step into a new place. Those are my favorite moments, though they are more rare than I would like! Have you had one of those before?

The best way I can describe this moment for me, is from this time forward, I will be creating my curriculum into the future. The existing classes that have already been recorded will continue to work within the realm of story work, but any teacher committed to her path is going to evolve, and certainly I have over time. Though this evolution admittedly feels BIG.
Coupled with the moon, I was writing the curriculum for the new upcoming Course, CODEX and I heard these words:
‘this class is in the future’
I thought, well of course this class is in the future because it hasn’t happened yet.
Then I heard the words ‘no, that’s not it, it’s something else’
I asked – well then, what does it mean that the class is in the future?
It means that I’m going to be teaching people how to work in the almost possible future space – the space that hasn’t happened yet but is coming soon. To create there, using the past only as reference points for tools and insight.
Since I haven’t taught this yet, I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but I’m looking forward to many of my community members being along for the ride!
