“Without the ability to think about yourself, to reflect on your life, there’s really no awareness, no consciousness. Consciousness doesn’t come automatically; it comes through being alive, awake, curious, and often furious.”
~ Maxine Greene, Philosopher

Everything in the world
that gets created by a human being,
is created with intentional creativity.
Making something that holds water.
Making a song rise from your lips.
Making a beautiful garment to wear.
Making your bed with fluffy pillows.
Making breakfast for someone you love.
Making a table that will last for generations.
Making something that gives more than it takes.
Making a garden that provides food.
Making a piece of art that tells a story.
Everything in the world
that gets created by a human being,
is created with intentional creativity.
Making something that will break soon.
Making something that will run out.
Making something that requires updates.
Making things that are only temporary.
Making things that only experts can use.
Making things that make us want to buy things.
Making things that will make people sick.
Making laws that hurt people on purpose.
Making machines that go boom.
Everything in the world
that is created by a human being,
is created with intentional creativity.
Our earliest artist ancestors
made marks on the wall
to indicate the stars.
They made a map in dots
to find the potato patch again.
They used the skin after eating the animal,
for clothing or warmth.
The first time a tool was shaped
with a certain function in mind.
They shaped a bone into a necklace.
They marked their tombs with signs.
They drew the symbols of their devotion.
They wove rugs with family codes
They hid sacred stories in woven fabric.
Everything in the world
that is created by a human being,
is created with intentional creativity.
When the Divine Ones
pulled the deep waters
from the sky space.
When the stars were put in place
When the moons were counted out,
13 for a cycle of seasons.
When the wild flowers were scattered.
When the blood was chosen to hold
the codes of the body.
When the field of each human was woven.
When lovers are called by sensations
that draw them together in union.
When a potential of a child arises
each moon in a woman’s body.
When day was divided from night.
Everything in the world
that is created by a Divine being,
is created with Intentional Creativity.
When we create, we do so
with self awareness and imagination,
regardless of the intent for good or harm.
Intentional Creativity
applied for the highest good
is when you make something,
and you are completely aware
that you are making it with intention.
Aware that your energy and heart
enter the creation in waves.
This level
of self awareness and imagination
changes the creation
changes the maker
informs the world
and we KNOW that is so.
This is quantum reality.
WE CHOOSE intention and
enter into inquiry and possibility.
That doesn’t mean we control outcomes,
rather we listen for insights along the way.
Inviting intuition, presence, mindfulness,
into our self expression,
making a co-creation.
Our inner worlds and outer expressions,
being a dialogue and dance.
This is why and how
Intentional Creativity leads
to elavated consciousness.
Over time and with intention,
in what and how we create,
we naturally wake up.
Being conscious about being
conscious, opens the heart,
illuminates the mind
nourishes the body
re-weaves the field.
This is a good thing.
Everything in the world
that gets created by a human being,
is created with Intentional Creativity.

This painting is a work in progress,
a dive into metamermaidian consciousness,
going into the deep to look around.
This writing arose out of several days of painting and being conscious about being conscious.
Intentional Creativity is the most simple, and obvious thing, so much so that we don’t even see it.
Our community is choosing to become aware of it and employ it for good, for pleasure, for freedom.
Intentional Creativity as a tool for Consciousness
I made this video last night with my thoughts about Intentional Creativity and consciousness, in relationship to our upcoming training, MOTHERBOARD: Intentional Creativity Method® Coaching Certification.
Get some tea and let’s hang out in the virtual realm!
Dear Ones,
If you have been following me and my work for a little while or a long while, you may know that Intentional Creativity and consciousness are BIG focuses for my life’s work. They are at the core of what I teach and why I teach.
I am carrying on the lineage, my piece of the Red Thread, passed down to me from women who made the choice to be conscious in their own lives, staying true to who they are, and weaving Intentional Creativity (creating with intention) into nearly everything they did/do.
One might think creating with intention and being conscious sounds ‘easy.’ For those who regularly practice, it is. For those of us who fall prey to the status quo, who are living our lives on auto-pilot and don’t take the time to actively co-create and pay attention to where we are called, it’s not so easy. We can feel fragmented and disconnected from our source.
This is not to shame us or feel as though we are broken. Rather, it begs the question – What can you do right now to be more conscious in your day? Will you embrace a loved one and really feel the connection between you? Will you choose to draw or write for 10 minutes with a cuppa tea or some wine and see what bubbles up from the inside? These acts are where we begin to activate consciousness and truly feel alive in a world where it’s so easy to numb out.
Every day I show up and hope to do my part in the evolution of our world. I’m excited to host a free call tomorrow for women in our Red Thread Connect Community about Metacognitive Drawing and Downloading. Will you come and be in virtual circle with us? Participants will be entered into a drawing for a free spot in Apothecary, which starts this weekend. Winner to be announced LIVE at the end of the call.
If you are in the Sonoma area and want to learn about how to access your body of work with a circle of amazing women entrepreneurs including myself and dear friend/master coach, Amy Ahlers, there is still some space for you at BOLD.
And… if you haven’t heard the word, we just opened the doors to MOTHERBOARD: Intentional Creativity Method® Coaching Certification. This is a culmination of my life’s work designed for practitioners, professionals, artists and teachers who want to uplevel their impact, offerings and results through the emergent and ancient technology of working visually. We are going on a 6-month voyage together! Priority enrollment applications are open now and we start in September.
If this image inspires you, come on over and check it out!
Blessings to you Dear One! Thank you for taking the time to read, to watch, to connect and to ponder how we can each be more conscious and awake in the great unfolding of this wild world.
I love it when girls attend our Muse Days classes at MUSEA. Here’s 12 year old Lexi with her painting above her head. Such a gift for me to spend time with her.
