And so our mothers and grandmothers have, more often than not anonymously, handed on the creative spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped to see – or like a sealed letter they could not plainly read. ~ Alice Walker
Dear Ones,
Solstice Greetings to you, from all of us at Intentional Creativity! The way I celebrate the changing of seasons is through simple ritual and reflection. Today I have shared this process with you….

PRECIOUS DELICOUSNESS
Here is a Precious Deliciousness IC process. An inquiry based Visual Meditation to stir the body, heart, and mind… Read through once so you get the idea and then enjoy!
What are you opening to in your life?
What does the vessel of your body long for?
What message is the heart speaking?
What does your consciousness seek?
What pleasure have you been witholding?
What area of your field is requesting reflection?
What calls to the work of your hands?
What prevents you from moving towards more of what gives you life?
What joy lights up your being?
~
Solstice Precious Deliciousness : A Visual Meditation to bless your day and awareness.
Materials: Ten pieces of paper, or journal and pen/s If you have time, sit outside. Take your time for best insights… savoring without hurry. Consider getting a cup of tea and entering a restful place for at least 15 minutes or up to an hour.
For the first round of reading, contemplate each inquiry. Read it out loud if you can or say it in your mind. As you ponder each inquiry, hold it lightly and with intention. As if each inquiry is a precious deliciousness to behold. Savor it. Smile if you are willing.
As you contemplate the inquiry look at it as if it is brand new, like a surprise in your awareness, with respect and awe. If you could look ‘all around an idea’, as if it has dimension and energy, you may see/feel different things. You are bringing the sensation into the contemplation. You don’t need to strive for an answer, rather, let the question itself be a kind of answer.
Now we will go through it one more time with image and language. Without dominating, draw abstract shapes inspired by the specific inquiry and listen to what arises (even just 30 seconds). Then journal into the spaces that got created, for insight. If clear answers arise, wonderful, what will you make of them? Is there an action you are inspired to take? If the inquiries all remain fluid, honor that as well. This is about YOUR EXPERIENCE of pausing…not about ‘getting somewhere’
For the last inquiry, let that FEELING of joy flood your senses. Throughout the day, continue to return to it.
Complete the inquiries with gratitude for earth, family, community and all aspects of your sacred path.
Drawing without dominating allows the brain to access new seeing/thinking spaces, so your experience isn’t controlled by your mind, by what is obvious or known.
For extra credit :) write someone you love a love note, bringing your own expanded awareness into the process.
The idea is that through the invitation of inquiry, your body, mind and heart will give you expanded insights that might otherwise be hidden. As well as allow the sensations to guide you and show you something new, and, delicious, in the very experience of asking and listening. When we pause to allow for reflection, we bless ourselves.
Blessings upon your day. You are a precious deliciousness.
This turning towards what you deeply love, saves you.
