Lady of Living Water
I call to you from the sands of life
Bring the holy grail of your healing
Here are five questions of worth to consider. Really it is a little journal assignment to remind you how wonderful you are – do you have the time? Perhaps you can make the time…get out your journal or open a doc and jot down some notes, it will take 20 minutes if you don’t try to think too hard, just write what comes up. Or meditate on it in your heart…
In the folds of your dress
your holy garment
I bury my head
Smelling the sweet fragrance of your love
My little hands hidden in the layers of fabric
I try to be consumed and folded into your dress
I want to disappear into your being-ness
I pull up a fold and surround myself with silken fabric
Soft and giving, silky and strong
It is dark like your skin
and in these folds I can imagine
All the world is well and
I hear your soothing voice
speaking words of grace-filled wisdom
hen we have tried all the tricks: the potions, the rituals, the positive thinking, the books and the seminars. When we have tried the quick fixes and the long fixes. All the stuff that was guaranteed to work if we will just work it – and it still isn’t working – then what? We keep waiting for our “ship to come in” meanwhile we are getting more behind every day.
When things are still not turning out as we had planned, no matter how hard we try – or how much we believe that it is going to flow to us with ease if we could just sit back and meditate on our ideal life, then what? What if we get cancer anyway? What if we are infertile? What if we have to get false teeth? What if there isn’t enough food in the cupboard? What if there is no cupboard? What if we lose our house after years of good behavior at the banks? What if there was no house? What if we cannot get a good nights sleep and we see the whole world through wonky spectacles? What if the good die young and the bad keep toasting their champagne glasses? What if, after years of diligent action, our business fails anyway? What about running out of ideas? What then?
Choosing to live a legendary life means giving ourselves permission to be amazing. We define what ‘amazing’ is for ourselves. It is not the “what” of living, but the “how.” Choosing to be legendary is more than an attitude and more than a way of being. When we choose to be legendary we have decided that we are defining the context in which our lives will be lived and experienced. Do you want vitality? Self expression? Do you want to feel like your life is on purpose? Do you want to live as an artist, with creativity as a central theme? There is a sparkling destiny waiting for you to say YES!
May you choose outrageous actions that challenge who you are and encourage who you are becoming.
May you take one step, however small, toward that which you have always longed for.
Now is the “right time.”
May you recognize the unique and powerful contribution that you bring to the people whose lives you touch.
May you be as wonderful as you really are, and do things because you want to, not just because you should.
May you celebrate your creativity and believe that you are an
artist with a unique vision that no one else has.
I send you greetings this bright December 1st! I woke up thinking about you again…
and about what so many of us are going through! What a time we are having right now! Whether our challenges are being too busy, being financially stressed or moving through the kind of blues that seem like it will never end, there is always something we can do to lift the dark clouds. I believe!
One of the hardest parts of going through challenging times is that when in the very midst of it, it has this impermeable quality that seems to echo lies like: “this it is how it is now”,which continues to create the sinking feeling we already have. Or we have been skidding downhill for a while now, and it appears there is still very much more skidding ahead, so, despair comes and pounds on the door of our heart and says things like: ”you have been in denial, you are too optimistic, face it, you are going down.”
We have tried red wine and chocolate and festive gathering with friends. We have even tried making a decision to “shop anyway”. But somehow the old quick fixes aren’t fixing. That is because it is not just us – we know of many who are also challenged right now – and it is not that misery loves company because misery is so morbid, it is because we do not want to feel alone in our dark night depth diving.
